马克斯·弗里施（Max Frisch，1911－1991）是在国际文坛上享有盛名的作家，他与弗里德里希•迪伦马特并称为当代瑞士德语文学的双子星座。年轻时弗里施做过记者、建筑师，1955年开始成为专业作家。弗里施既写小说，又写戏剧，是个多产作家，他的作品远远超出德语国家的范围，特别值得一提的长篇小说《能干的法贝尔》（1957）的译本有近三十种文字之多。弗里施的作品深刻地揭示了当代西方社会人的精神危机问题。
